My blogging has been on pause for a while because we are expecting! We have been really excited about a new addition. Unfortunately I haven't been able to keep up with my blogging due to the blessings of 24 hour morning sickness. We have been managing quite well. I got a prescription for Zofran (an amazing anti-nausea drug) almost immediately. After about a month of feeling sick and it getting worse and worse I finally went in for an IV to get re-hydrated. I also upped my dose of Zofran. I have been doing pretty well since then. Brandon has to get a lot of credit for doing EVERYTHING! He shops, cooks, cleans, feeds the kids when home, bathes (the kids), and not to mention his job. He has been amazingly supportive and willing to help out.
Well, the day finally came for an ultrasound...We all went. Brandon was in the waiting room with the kids. It was taking a long time and I was a little confused at some of the things I was seeing. But I was paying more attention to what turned out to be a little cyst on my ovary than anything else. Then she printed out a paper and said the numbers were wrong. She started over. I thought it was so weird. Why was she measuring everything twice? I thought that maybe she was new to this or something.
She went and got Brandon and the kids and came back. She showed them a couple of pictures and told us we were having TWINS!!! Brandon could tell right away! HOW ON EARTH DID I MISS THAT! I have know idea. But it was so fun to find out together. We were absolutely shocked in the ultrasound room. I kept looking at the 2 VERY SMALL children we already had...wondering how on earth is this going to be possible. But of course I couldn't stop smiling.
It is interesting how Heavenly Father prepares us for these things. Before we knew anything, Brandon and I kept talking about having twins...more in a joking way. After a while of teasing about it I told Brandon we needed to stop teasing because I was getting excited about the idea and I didn't want to be disappointed when there was only one baby in my ultrasound. (One more reason I feel so dumb not realizing what I was seeing in the ultrasound!)
ABOUT THE BABIES
The babies both measured at 11 weeks along Wed at their ultrasound. My due date is March 6th. My goal is to get to Feb 6th!
We won't know if they are identical or fraternal twins until they are born (unless we get a girl and a boy...obviously there are some critical parts that are NOT identical : ). As I have been doing some research on the subject identical twins can happen to anyone and fraternal are the genetic twins. To have the fraternal twins it must come from the mother's side...but a father can pass this gene down to a daughter...thanks dad : ). After talking to my Grandma Alicia she said twins are all over her father's side of the family. So I guess it could be either!
Well, we are Super excited all of the time, feeling overwhelmed most of the time. Brandon claims he isn't scared, but I admit it...I AM! I think we will make it though...Dallin is pretty easy and a self entertainer. Brooklyn is a little mother and will help a ton. She is really excited about the two babies in mommy's tummy and on occasion she has three babies in hers! Overall we are all happy and excited to tell everyone we know!
TWINS WOW!
