remembering today

In the moment (especially with a first child) you think you will remember every little thing. Now I look back at my first two children and there are a lot of the little things that I wish I could remember. So here are a few little things for the record:

Brooklyn:

~She is as sweet as can be.
~She loves to be independent.
~She loves to feed the babies, make them laugh and LOVES it when I ask her to "babysit" while I take a quick shower. She feels so grown up!
~She takes after her father as the "rule follower". Example:

Brandon was driving back from Texas with the kids and couldn't find a place to stop. Brooklyn really needed to use the restroom. Brandon asked her if she wanted to wear the magic potty hat that would help her not have to poop (yes, I did say poop...that's life). Brooklyn said "NO", and told him, "No potty talk Dad!"

After attending the Draper Temple open house Brooklyn told me she wanted to get married in the Draper temple because it was so beautiful. She was also very concerned that she didn't know who she was going to marry in the temple. (What a cutie :))

Dallin:

Dallin is suddenly getting so big! Here are a few things that I want to remember about Dallin at 2 1/2.
~Dallin is a crazy, rambunctious BOY! But he is not afraid of his feminine side...he also enjoys playing with Brooklyn's babies etc.
~Potty training: His first day he was 100% successful (only to go down hill from there...still working on it).
~Says constantly "I NEED you mom", "I don't like it!" , and answers every question with "No"
~Knows and makes an effort to call the twins by name (both babies used to be Colby)
~Gets the twins to say uh-oh and howl like a dog
~Snuggles! He is a ball full of energy most of the time, but he has a cuddly side to him that is so fun. He will come snuggle in bed with me and pulls your arm around him to hold him tight.
~Has kicked the alter cushion in the Draper Temple. (With any luck Brooklyn could get married on the alter where her brother kicked it so unceremoniously)

Parker:

~Loves his mom! (I only say this because Colby would much rather have Grandma any time!)
~Has said Uh-oh since 10 months.
~Is such a happy and easy going baby that I didn't realize he has a double ear infection!
~Looks like Dallin to me.
~Bangs his head on the ground on purpose, then cries.

Colby:

~Loves his Grandma!
~Tries to wrestle with dad like his older siblings.
~Looks more like Brooklyn to me.
~Super happy and easy going disposition.

Parker and Colby:

~When fighting over toys they head butt each other.
~Started crawling at 11 months.
~Loves their Aunt Lauren and Grandma and Grandpa!
~Started eating baby food at 11 months (more than 2 or 3 forced bites). FINALLY! Wahoo!
~Have recently started to cry really hard when grandma walks by or when being taken from her!
